Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A SpiceJet flight bound for Bagdogra from Kolkata airport faced a tense situation on Sunday as a female passenger claimed there was a bomb in her luggage bag. The incident led to panic among passengers, causing a delay of over an hour for the scheduled flight.
Before boarding the plane, during baggage claim, the female passenger informed authorities about the alleged bomb in her luggage bag. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) immediately swung into action and began searching her bag on the plane. After repeated inspections, no explosive device was found.
Sources suggest that despite the thorough checks, the woman suddenly asserted that her bag contained a bomb, causing further distress among the passengers onboard. However, subsequent investigations confirmed it to be a false alarm.
The incident led to a delay in the SpiceJet flight's departure, initially scheduled for around 12:55 pm. Airport authorities and security personnel managed the situation, ensuring the safety of all passengers before proceeding with the flight.
